The three iconic temples in one easy morning — and honest truth up front: you don't need a tour for this one.
Distance: ≈ 35 km total · Time: 4–5 hours · Transport: Grab between stops works fine, or a rented scooter if you ride.
Grab from the city ~150–200 THB, 20 minutes. Beat the tour buses; allow 1–1.5 hours. Entrance 200 THB.
Grab across town (~25 min). Elevator up the Guan Yin statue ~40 THB. 45 minutes is enough.
Short Grab ride back toward the city (~10 min). Free entry, 30–45 minutes. The coconut ice cream stand outside is part of the experience.
You're 5 minutes from the city center — perfect timing for khao soi. Afternoon free for Singha Park or a café.
| Option | Cost | Our take |
|---|---|---|
| Grab between stops | ~300–400 THB total + fees | Easiest DIY — recommended |
| Scooter rental | ~250 THB + fuel | Fun if you ride confidently |
| Tuk-tuk half-day charter | ~600–800 THB (negotiate) | Charming, pricier |
| Tour | — | Honestly unnecessary for this route |
Typical price ranges — please double-check locally.
Want the far sights too (tea plantation, Golden Triangle)? Then skip this route and do the full 1-day loop instead — it includes all three temples anyway.
Rather not drive it yourself
The White Temple, Blue Temple and Black House are easy enough to reach on your own — but the stories behind them are the reason to go, and that is what a guide is for. Our full day takes in all three plus the tea plantation and the Golden Triangle, with hotel pickup and a Thai lunch included.
